It’s just another day waking up in Joy’s world: she’s hungover, broke, and avoiding her mother. After a wild and destructive night-out, she realizes her life is a big mess of her own making… Now at 40, Joy finally confronts her fears, failures and a lifetime of poor choices she’s only beginning to understand. Alongside her are best friends – Zee (who seems to have it all) and Lilly (who pretends she doesn’t need more), plus her overbearing mom Judy, who’s fresh off her fourth failed marriage. Together, they stumble through late-blooming self-discovery while navigating love, identity, motherhood, and the choices that shape a life. What follows is the messy, hilarious, and occasionally hopeful process of finding your joy – whatever that means.
